数百万脸书账户资料在网上被泄露了！据一名 Twitter 用户 Alon Gal （Under the Breach）于4月3日 （周六）在 Twitter 上写道：“所有5.33亿脸书用户的记录已被免费泄漏。这意味着，若你有个脸书账户，该账户所用的电话号码极有可能已泄露。我还没看到脸书承认这项过失。”该用户也附上手头上各国脸书用户的数据截图。

据《Insider》报导，在网上外泄的用户资料来自106个国家，其中有超过3,200万美国用户数据、1,100万英国用户数据和600万印度用户数据。泄漏的资讯还包含电话号码、脸书账号、用户全名、位置、出生日期和个人简历等等，而在某些情况下还可获得一些用户电邮。
网络安全专家认为，犯罪集团或不良分子能够使用这些外露的信息身份欺诈或用于网络犯罪。对此，脸书发言人 Liz Bourgeois 也在 Twitter 上回应声明：“这是在2019年呈报的旧数据，而我们也在2019年8月发现并修复了该问题。”
